Short title.
Addition of section 4A.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Post Office (Amendment) Ordinance 1988.
2. The principal Ordinance is amended by adding after section 4 the following-
"Charity
4A. (1) With the approval of the Governor in postage stamps. Council, the Postmaster General may issue an adhesive charity postage stamp that bears, in addition to its regular postage denomination, a denomination signifying a dona- tion of that amount by the purchaser to the charitable institution identified on the stamp.
(2) The Postmaster General shall not sell a charity postage stamp at any place unless a stamp of the same postage denomination is also available for purchase there.
(3) The Postmaster General may retain from the money received as the donation portion of the sale of charity postage stamps an amount equal to the costs related to them and shall pay the retained amount into the general revenue.".
