SINO/FRENCH JUDICIAL CO-OPERATION AGREEMENT
1. Thank you for your letter of 21 October. I am sorry that it was not possible for us to deal with this enquiry earlier. There was apparently some problem about the translation of the agreement, and it has not yet been officially published. However, the Quai department concerned have kindly sent me, in strict confidence, a copy for our own background, which I enclose. Publication is expected within the next few weeks. I shall let you know when it happens, so that the agreement can be declassified. At the same time I shall try to obtain a copy in Chinese, which might be more convenient for Hong Kong Government officials.
