(i) Perceived problems in Hong Kong

In response CO the question on whether there are problems in Hong Kong, 44% have replied positively. The first three mentioned problems by this group of people are "transport-related problems" (44%), "housing-related problems' (41%) and "Hong Kong Future" (25%). The percentage of people mentioning "Hong Kong Future" as e problem has decreased when compared with the figures recorded in June 1987 (30%) and December 1986 (33%).

As regards problems that are of most concern to people personally, "housing-related problems" (21%) remains at the top of the list, followed by "transport-related problems" (17%), "education-related problems" (9%) and "crime-related problems"
