The 570 member "Television Home Viewing Group Scheme" is not directly related to the above-mentioned survey. The basic function of the Television Home Viewing Groups is to provide continuous information on the public's assessment of the standards of day-to-day television broadcasts. I have attached a copy of an information paper on the Television Home Viewing Group Scheme which I hope will give you a clearer idea of how the Scheme works.
You made certain points in the final pargraph of your letter, which require

some clarification. Firstly, the Television and Entertainment Licensing Authority continues to preview Hong Kong-produced television material on a selective basis, and continues to monitor compliance with the Codes of Practice on Programme and Advertising Standards with respect to all material broadcast on television. Secondly, with regard to the advertising of condoms on television, this is permitted only after 9.30 p.m.
and strict conditions are applied on the advertisement content.
