RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE BROADCASTING AUTHORITY ON RENEWAL OF THE LICENCES OF TELEVISION BROADCASTS LIMITED AND
ASIA TELEVISION LIMITED
THE PROBLEM
On 24 and 25 November 1987, after considering XCC(87) 176, (Annex A), Council advised and the Governor ordered that, a further submission should be made
(a)
(b)
setting out the provisions in the current legislation for revocation of licences, and the arguments for and against an additional provision on the grounds of public interest; and
on the issues of foreign ownership discussed in paragraphs 8 to 17
17 of the memorandum, and on the relation between
licensee companies and respective holding companies.
