BETTING DUTY (AMENDMENT) BILL 1987

A BILL
To
Amend the Betting Duty Ordinance.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Betting Duty (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance 1988.

Section 4C of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in subsection (1) by deleting "Not less than 59 per cent” and
substituting the following-
"Fifty-nine per cent";
(b) in subsection (1A) by deleting "subsection (1)" and substituting
the following-
"subsections (1), (2) and (3)”;
(c) in subsection (2) by deleting "such percentage of the proceeds of a lottery as the Board with the approval of the Chief Secretary may from time to time determine" and substituting the following-
"7.5 per cent of the proceeds of a lottery"; and
(d) by deleting subsections (2A), (3) and (4) and substituting the
following
"(3) Three and one half per cent of the proceeds of a lottery shall be paid into the Lotteries Fund.".
