(a) The US dollar broke up through the 130-yen mark in the world currency markets at one stage, a gain which boosted confidence in the US but brought some jitters into the Japanese camp;
(b) RJP Electronics Ltd announced that its shares would be listed on the Vancouver Stock Exchange so that investors could trade in the shares of the company on 2 Markets; and
(c) Sing Tao Ltd, the newspaper group, announced its Re- sults for the Year ended March 31, 1988, with Profits of $HK124.6 million, a fall of $HK104 million from the previous Year.

a) The Hang Seng Index closed at 2,707.56 points; b) The Hang Seng Index dropped 10.46 points
compared with its previous close, equivalent to a loss of 0.38 percent;
c) The week's turnover was $HK7,359.20 million; d) The average daily turnover was $HK1,471.84
million, compared with the average daily turn- over of $HK784.41 million the week before.
