You will have seen by now Reg Holloway's letter of 29 June to John Hall, DTI about Lord Young's visit to Hong Kong.

You will remember our correspondence on the question of whether HMG should present text books to the University. Sir S Y Chung's latest suggestion that British machinery should be provided free or at a discount price is an imaginative one that I think would be worth pursuing. But I realise that this is very much a matter for HMG rather than me.
