An Ordinance to amend the Nurses Registration Ordinance.

Short title and
commencement.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Nurses Registration (Amend- ment) Ordinance 1988 and shall come into operation on a day to be appointed by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.
Amendment of section 2.

Amendment of section 3.
Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in the definition of "chairman" by inserting before the semicolon.
the following-
"and includes any person elected to act as chairman under section 3(5C)";
(b) in the definition of "Director" by deleting "Director of Medical
and Health Services" and substituting the following-
"Nursing Director of the Medical and Health Department"; and
(c) by deleting the definition of "Principal Nursing Officer".
3. Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in subsection (2)—
(i) by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting the following-
"(b) one registered nurse in the public service of Hong Kong who shall be nominated by the Director of Medical and Health Services and appointed by the Governor;";
