Thank you for your letter of 14 October asking for a meeting between representatives of the Vietnam Refugee National Council, the National Indo-China Association and the National Federation of Vietnam Refugee Chinese Associations and a Foreign and Commonwealth Office Minister

I read with interest your letter on Vietnamese boat people carried in The Independent on 18 October. If I may say so, I found it a very constructive and realistic contribution to the current debate on this complex issue.
