FOR A DRAFT REPLY FRUT THE AMBASSADOR.
M.Woodruff Pc 919.
I would appreciate your assistance in aiding the Indochina Resource Action Center (IRAC) in its process of conducting a factual study of the present situation of Vietnamese asylum-seekers in Hong Kong.
An IRAC representative, Janelle M. Diller, is planning a visit to Hong Kong from September 7 to September 15. I would appreciate your help in arranging visits to all camps housing Vietnamese and all screening centers. Your help is also needed to arrange meetings with asylum-seekers as well as Hong Kong government officials who are involved in the new screening procedures.
Again, I appreciate any help you could give to the IRAC in its effort to conduct factual study of the present situation of Vietnamese asylum-seekers.
Sincerely,
Jonnie Morelle
