Dear Secretary of State,
you for
On behalf of my colleagues in OMELCO, I thank your timely message about the Vietnamese boat people problem.
My colleagues and I are most grateful for the efforts that you have made so far and trust that you will continue to do what you can to find a lasting solution to the problem.
We welcome the change of policy which was announced by the Hong Kong Government on 15 June. Initial reaction
of the people in Hong Kong to the announcement has been favourable and it is hoped that it would bring about the desired results.
Yours sincerely,
Heldring
