ORGANISATIONS: 16 DECEMBER
1.
Representative of three organisations representing refugees
from Vietnam in this country are calling on Lord Glenarthur tomorrow
morning. I submit briefing.
2.
It is planned that Lord Ennals should accompany the delegation, but this may not be possible as he was recently taken
ill and is undergoing tests in hospital. Mr Malcolm Rodgers,
Secretary of the BRC Asia Committee, will be present. The
delegation itself will comprise two representatives each from the
Vietnam Refugee National Council, the National Indo-Chinese
Association and the National Federation of Vietnam Refugee Chinese
Associations.
3.
The delegation can be expected to focus its questions on:
(a) forced repatriation to Vietnam;
(b)
(c)
Vietnamese assurances of good treatment of returnees;
conditions in the Hong Kong camps.
