Mr David Colvin
Jane Connors, who is Lecturer in Law at SOAS, with particular reference to SE Asia, and who has experience of refugee issues, has agreed to convene the conference with me. She has begun to canvas interest in the proposal and has met with some encouraging responses. We have begun to work up other details, and to consider possible speakers and participants.
Bob Taylor has already suggested we meet for lunch, perhaps together with others of your colleagues, to discuss this further. May I suggest some day in the second week of September? I shall be away from 15 August, arriving back at SOAS on Monday 5 September. Perhaps I might hear from you by then or be in touch by phone on 5 September.
