Mr Mclaren began by suggesting that the discussion focus on Cambodia/Vietnam and the boat people problem. M. Martin agreed.

South East Asia. Mr McLaren said that she would be undertaking a

strenuous programme covering Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand in addition to Australia. She would be meeting Prince Sihanouk at Site

B on 7 August. The Prince was still the best hope for Cambodia and we hoped that the meeting would give him an important boost. We were looking forward to the Prince's visit to London in October when he would meet the Secretary of State and the Prime Minister.
