25. The Donnez (France, Liberal) report was adopted, recommending rejection of the Italian authorities request for waiver of have Gustavo Selva's (Italy, Christian Democrat) immunity.
Protection of the Alpine region
26.
Oral question put by Schleicher (Germany, Christian Democrat) and others, with debate (but no vote). Christophersen (Commission) briefly outlined the measures available to protect the Alpine region but pointed out that since large areas were outside the Community international protection was required. The Commission were not against the idea of a possible European Convention, but had no plans to initiate action. Voting on the resolution was deferred to the 16-20 May plenary.
