An Ordinance to amend the Securities Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Securities (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance 1988.
2. Section 19 of the principal Ordinance is amended—
Amendment of section 19.
(a) by deleting subsections (1), (2) and (3) and substituting the (Cap. 333.)
following-
"(1) Except in the exercise of any function under this Ordinance or for the carrying into effect of the provisions of this Ordinance, every person who has been appointed under or who is or has been employed in carrying out or assisting any person to carry out the provisions of this Ordinance-
(a) shall preserve and aid in preserving secrecy with regard to all matters coming to his knowledge in the exercise of any function under this Ordinance;
(b) shall not communicate any such matter to any
person; and
(c) shall not suffer or permit any person to have access to any documents or records in his possession, custody or control or in the possession, custody or control of any other person so appointed or employed.
