This Ordinance was passed by the Legislative Council on
15 June 1988.

In accordance with clause XXVIII of the Royal
Instructions, an explanatory report by the Law Draftsman
showing the reasons and occasion for passing the Ordinance
is enclosed. A copy of the Gazette Supplement containing
the Ordinance is also enclosed, together with a copy of the
Bill.

This Ordinance was introduced and passed as a
private bill and, in accordance with clause XXVII of the Roya
Instructions, a certificate under the hand of the Governor

This Ordinance is a private measure providing for the incorporation of the Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Hong Kong (the "Assembly"). The Ordinance sets out the objects and powers of the Assembly and provides for the transfer to the Asssembly of assets previously vested in a company incorporated under the Companies Ordinance. company is dissolved by the Ordinance.

In accordance with Royal Instruction XXVII, The
Spiritual Assembly of the Baha'is of Hong Kong
Incorporation Bill 1988 was published in the Hong Kong
Government Gazette on 26th February 1988 and 4 th
March
1988.
In accordance with Standing Order 39(3), notice
of its intended introduction into the Legislative Council
was advertised in the "Hong Kong Standard" and the
"Wah Kiu Yat Po" on 26th February 1988 and 4th March 1988.
