An Ordinance to amend the Employment Ordinance and its subsidiary
legislation.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Employment (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance 1988.
2. The principal Ordinance is amended-
(a) in the provisions mentioned in column 1 of the First Schedule to this Ordinance by deleting the amounts mentioned in column 2 and substituting the amounts mentioned in column 3;
(b) by deleting section 59(3);
(c) in section 60—
(i) in subsection (1) by deleting "section 51(1), (2) or (3)" and substituting the following-
"section 51(2) or (3)";
(ii) in subsection (3) by deleting "or any provision of sec- tion 57";
(iii) by deleting subsection (4);
(iv) by inserting after subsection (5) the following-
“(6) Any person who contravenes section 51(1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine of $20,000.
