TRADE UNIONS (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1988

This Ordinance amends the Trade Unions Ordinance mainly for the purpose of allowing registered trade unions by secret ballot of its members or members' representatives to spend money to support candidates and prospective candidates for election to a District Board, the Urban or Regional Council or the Legislative Council. The members may authorize expenditure on electoral expenses by resolution for a specific election or establish an electoral fund from which expenditures can be made without the need for a resolution in each case.
Also the words "the Colony" have been replaced by "Hong Kong".

3. Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
