Visit to Daya Bay Site on 11 January 1988
1.0 Introduction
These notes briefly summarise the visit to the Daya Bay Site on 11 January 1988 prior to the regular project co- ordination meeting held on 14 January 1988 at the JVC offices in Shenzen.

The visit was arranged by the JVC to enable the interested parties to see the site and assess the progress to date.
General Aspects
The site as a whole is quite extensive and includes residential accommodation for the project team and offices to which the personnel presently based in Shenzen will move. The facilities for the expatriate staff include a supermarket and western fast food restaurant. A club facility is also under consideration.
Land access to the site is via a single carriageway road but a jetty has been constructed to give direct access from the sea for large loads.

Plant Construction Site
3.1 Layout
The plant will comprise two 900MW units together with the necessary auxiliary equipment. The plant will be arranged with the reactors at the landward end of the site with the two turbines arranged with their axes in parallel and in line with their respective reactors.
