SPEAKING NOTES

CLAUSE 4:

REGISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT OF ARBITRATION AWARDS

Annex II to the Convention sets out steps to be taken to resolve various forms of dispute. In some cases, the final step is arbitration. Under this clause, a party to a dispute which has

been the subject of an arbitration award under the Convention may

have the award registered in the High Court and enforced as if it were a judgement of British courts.
