6. RN Patrol Craft
As part of its continuing review of operational tasks, this year the British garrison is withdrawing two patrol craft from the Hong Kong Squadron and disbanding the third Raiding Squadron Royal Marines. These are routine adjustments to the strength of the garrison, which have been made possible in the light of the security situation and the improving capability of the Royal Hong Kong Marine Police. They also reflect the efforts of HQ British Forces to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness and the economic management
of the garrison.
