MPS' FOREIGN AFFAIRS INTERESTS
1. We have now completed the computerisation of our records of the foreign affairs interests of current Members of Parliament.
2. The computer contains 234 subject and 650 nominal indexes. A list of the subject headings is attached and I should be grateful if each Department would let us know which of these they would like to receive. We will then arrange to send print-outs of the relevant subject and nominal entries. The computer is also capable of cross-referencing each entry; for example, if you wanted details of MPS interested in more than one subject and perhaps speaking a language we should be able to help. All enquiries should be addressed to Nigel Dickerson (270 2231).
3. The print-outs will not normally include Government ministers although, except for our own, their foreign affairs interests are also stored in the computer.

I should be grateful if Departments would continue to keep PRU fully informed about any contacts they have with Parliamentarians.
