Amendment of section 13.

LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL (ELECTORAL PROVISIONS) (AMENDMENT) BILL 1988

Section 6 of the principal Ordinance is amended—

(a) by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following—

"(1) An elected Member shall be treated as having accepted office as such Member unless he gives notice in writing to the Governor of his non-acceptance of office as such Member within 7 days after the date on which his election is published in accordance with regulations made under section 28."; and

(b) in subsection (2), by deleting "fails to give" and substituting the

following

Section 13(3) of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "1985" and substituting the following—

"1988".

Section 20(1)(b)(ii)(A) of the principal Ordinance is amended by deleting "1985" and substituting the following—

Regulation 6(2) of the Post Office Regulations is amended

(a) in sub-paragraph (a), by inserting before "Electoral" the

following-

(b) in sub-paragraph (b), by inserting before "Electoral" the

following-
