statement giving the facts on which the defence takes issue with the prosecution. However, flause 16(1)(b) of the Bill requires
that "a written statement of all reasonably foreseeable propositions of law on which the defence may wish to rely" be delivered to the court which, I think, is a heavy and unfair
burden on the defence. I would consider it more acceptable to require only a written statement in response to the prosecution's
propositions of law and I therefore support Mr. Martin LEE's
amendment on this clause.

intensive deliberation and public consultation, we have finally come up with the present version of the Complex Commercial Crimes
1987 Bill which is generally acceptable to all parties concerned, including the legal profession and the business community.
