I should point out that the Bill before Members provides for the appointment of, among others, a barrister and a solicitor. As with the present Judicial Service Commission, these appointments are made in their individual capacities as practising members of the legal profession, and not as representatives of their professional bodies.

Fourthly, they have asked whether the present requirement for all recommendations made by the Judicial

Service Commission to be unanimous should be preserved.
