posts are manned at several points along the track to
offer advice and assistance to cyclists.

two of which provide 24-hour accident emergency proces. More serious cases are dealt with at the

In the light of the concern expressed by the
Sha Tin and Tai Po District Boards, efforts are also being
made to encourage better cycling standards in order to
prevent accidents. The Sha Tin District Office is
actively promoting greater safety in cycling through
publicity campaigns in schools. In addition, an
inter-district, inter-departmental working group has been
established to explore the need for further facilities
along the cycle track such as emergency phones and more
first aid posts.
