I move that the Securities (Amendment) Bill 1988
second time.
The purpose of this Bill is to amend section 19
of the Securities Ordinance to empower the Commissioner
for Securities to release to specified persons information
obtained in the course of his duties under the Ordinance.
This will permit increased co-operation with law
enforcement agencies in Hong Kong and with overseas
regulatory authorities concerned with securities markets
and will bring the provisions of the Ordinance into line
with the relevant provisions of the Banking Ordinance.
