of the existing parking spaces are in the Tsuen Wan/Kwai Tsing

areas, some are scattered throughout the territory. In view

of the shortage of land around the container port, some sites

will have to be made available elsewhere.

In the longer term, a comprehensive study of the

requirements of container port back-up facilities (including

Parking) will be undertaken as part of the Port and Airport

Development Strategy Study. Preliminary results of this part

of the study should be ready by the middle of this year.
