Sir, I am in no doubt whatsoever that the broad
policies contained in the White Paper are in the best
interests of the people of Hong Kong,
Kong, and have
and have their
support. We are committed to evolving a system or
government aimed at meeting the aspirations of the people
for further representation, while at the same time
ensuring the continuation of Hong Kong's prosperity and stability both up to, and beyond 1997. I hope we can rely upon the support of Members of this Council in that most
Important task.
