Consolidated net profit after taxation of the Group for the
half year ended 30th June, 1988 amounted to HK$415 million.
The unaudited profit and loss account for the six months ended 30th June,
1988 and the comparisons with last year are set out in the accompanying
table.
Dividend
The Directors have today declared an interim dividend for 1988 of 7 cents
per share (1987- 5.8 cents per share after adjustment for the rights issue
made in November 1987) payable on 14th October, 1988 to those persons
registered as shareholders on 14th October, 1988.
The share register of members will be closed from 3rd October, 1988 to 14th
October, 1988, both days inclusive.
