Millions concerts. In 1986, the Music Office provided
weekly instrumental classes for some 4,000 students, aged
from 6 to 23, in 700 classes at the 8 music centres, and
organised 316 concerts to entertain some 216,000 people.
In addition, the Music Office operates a number of youth
orchestras of one kind or another.
There are seven museums in Hong Kong. In
addition to exhibitions, regular shcool visits are
organised for school children. The Space Museum, opened

in 1980 enjoys particular popularity with the public.
has a 316-seat space theatre with an advanced motion
picture project system. There are sky shows, exhibtions,
lectures and telescopic observations. Special classes on
space and astronomy are also conducted regularly.
