ordered to be transferred to the court under this Ordinance

shall forthwith give notice of their appointments to the

Registrar.

(2) A solicitor or counsel who has given notice under

subsection (1) may not withdraw from such proceedings

without the leave of the court.

Commencement of trial.

11. (1) Where a preparatory hearing has been ordered

under section 9 the trial shall begin with the commencement

of the preparatory hearing.

(2) The indictment shall accordingly be read over to

the accused by the Registrar, and explained if necessary,

at the commencement of the preparatory hearing.

(3) Where the indictment has been read over to the

accused and if necessary explained, under subsection (2)

the accused may plead to the indictment at that time or may

defer his pleading but he shall be required to plead to the

indictment before the jury is empanelled.

Service of documents by prosecutor.

12. (1) After the indictment has been read over to

the accused and the accused has been given the opportunity

of pleading thereto under section 11 the judge shall order

the prosecutor to serve on the accused jdeliver to the court
