(a) in subsection (1) by deleting "the English language or the Chin
language" and substituting the following--
"of the official languages";
(b) in subsection (3) by deleting "the English language or the Chinese
language" and substituting the following-
"of the official languages”.
5. The Schedule to the principal Ordinance is amended in the heading thereto by deleting "THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE OR THE CHINESE LANGUAGE” and substituting the following—
1987.
"OF THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGES".

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent
of the Legislative Council thereof.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Interpretation and General Short title and Clauses (Amendment) Ordinance 1987 and shall come into operation on a
commencement.

(a) by inserting after the definition of “document" the following––
