TELECOMMUNICATION ORDINANCE
(Chapter 106)
TELECOMMUNICATION (CABLE AND WIRELESS (HONG KONG) LIMITED) (ÉXEMPTION FROM LICENSING) ORDER 1981
Made by the Governor in Council under section 39
1. This order may be cited as the Telecommunication (Cable and Ciuos and Wireless (Hong Kong) Limited) (Exemption from Licensing) Order 1981 · commencemenl and shall come into operation on 1 October 1981.
2.Any person, to the extent that he possesses or uses any apparatus. Exemption. for telecommunication that is connected by wire or other material substance to a public telecommunication service provided by Cable and Wireless (Hong Kong) Limited in accordance with the terms of the licence granted
to it under sections 7 and 34 of the Telecommunication Ordinance, is (Cap. 106 ↑ exempted from the obligation to hold a licence under section 8(1) of the Ordinance.
3. The Telecommunication (Cable and Wireless Limited) (Exemption Cancellation. from Licensing) Order 1981 is cancelled.

Explanatory Note
The operations in Hong Kong of Cable and Wireless Limited will, from 1 October 1981, be taken over by Cable and Wireless (Hong Kong)
Limited. This order exempts from the requirement to hold a licence any user of the public telecommunications service provided by Cable and Wireless (Hong Kong) Limited by means of apparatus connected by wire or other material substance to the service.
