A person who contravenes a direction contained in
a notice served under subsection (4) on him commits an
offence and is liable on conviction to a fine of $10,000
and imprisonment for 6 months.
Exemption of advertising material by Authority.
17. (1) Where advertising material is submitted under
section 16 without a statement referred to in subsection
(2)(b) of that section, the Authority may, not later than 7
working days after it is so submitted, exempt it from being
dealt with under section 18 if it is, in the Authority's
opinion, of a class or description of advertising material
prescribed as suitable to be exempted under this section.
(2) Advertising material may be exempted under this section subject to such reasonable conditions, if any, as
the Authority thinks fit and shall be subject to a
condition that the advertising material shall not be
published or displayed with -
(a) any additions to; or
(b) any excisions from,
the advertising material in the form in which it was
submitted under section 16.
(3) Where advertising material is exempted under this section, the Authority shall forthwith issue to the person
