Vietnamese refugees; some press reports have speculated that we are about to take 1000 refugees from Hong Kong, others that we will take none. Despite this speculation, the line to take remains as in our second supplementary on page 3 of the notes for supplementaries already submitted.
On (b), we have yet to receive a report from Bangkok of the Secretary of State/Wu meeting. We assume that this will now arrive tomorrow morning. We shall then immediately send you a brief supplementary based upon it.
