Any responsible government needs some power to control
showing of films in extreme cases. Hong Kong Government
have simply acted now to put vires of own provisions
(which have operated for 30 years) beyond legal doubt.
Film Classification Bill has been published for public
comment and for consultation with members of Legislative
Council.
