Ling is an artist. He becomes disillusioned with the Communists and leaves China. He goes back with his wife during the Cultural Revolution. He is accused of all kinds of crime and finally walks away in the snow to die of cold in the wilderness.

This is a film about conditions under the Cultural Revolution. It showed lifestyles of corrupt bureaurats and caders. It was based on a play in China "The Shanghai Secret File".
Twilight in Geneva (AOF)

A young economist arrives in a country in Africa. He wants to push reforms in the Embassy where everything is irregular, including red tape, graft and
• extra marital relationship between colleages.
The young economist falls in love with an American, but is told to give her up: He does. He is asked to leave the country as soon as possible by his Embassador. He goes to Geneva where he defects. He escapes to France and is granted political asylum.
This is a political film criticising the Chinese Government, its policies, the lack of human rights, favoritism, and feud between Rightists and Leftists among Party members.
