Film Censorship
SASI informed the meeting that subsequent to the last LAPG meeting he and AG(Ag) had met CS to discuss this subject and that the Ex Co paper was revised to take into account decision reached at that meeting. He then drew Members' attention to pages 13-14 of the paper which outlined the political considerations involved if the
PA said that from proposed Bill was introduced into Leg Co. a political point of view, the Government must retain power to censor any films, especially those which would upset China. However, it would be very undesirable to stir up a public debate on political censorship at this point of
time.
He was worried that the Government might be seen as trying to maintain censorship for the benefit of China and that if a public row broke out on this subject, there would
