1. The NUJ have asked Mr Renton to agree to see two office bearers
of the Hong Kong Journalists Association (HKJA). In Mr Renton's
absence, and given his previous agreement to see a Foreign
Correspondents Club representative on 1 April, we have tentatively
arranged for the two HKJA representatives to call at 4pm on 31
March. The representatives are Mr Wong Kwok-Wah, General Secretary
of the HKJA, and Mr Nigel Armstrong, a member of the Executive
Committee. Mr Wong and an NUJ representative previously called on
Mr Luce in June 1985, and a record of their discussion is at flag B.
Further background is contained in my submission of 17 March at Flag
C and in Hong Kong telno 1215.
2. I submit briefing for Mr Wong's and Mr Armstrong's call.
