THE HONG KONG EXAMINATIONS AUTHORITY (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1987

This Ordinance amends the Hong Kong Examinations
Authority Ordinance as follows

section 2 alters the composition of the Authority and provides for the appointment of a Deputy Chairman;
sections 3 and 5 remove provisions which have had their effect;
(c)
section 4 increases the powers and independence of the Authority;
(d)
section 6 empowers the Authority (expressly) to publish or disclose examination results;

section 7 adds a further category to the list of resources of the Authority;
sections 8, 9 and 10 replace the term "receipts and payments" with more appropriate accounting terminology, and delete provisions which have had their effect;
section 11 authorizes the Authority to invest its surplus funds;
section 12 updates the names of the specified examinations conducted by the Authority and deletes provisions which have had their effect.
Before the Acting Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Acting Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
