This Ordinance amends the Protection of Women and Juveniles Ordinance for the following purposes

enabling care proceedings in respect of a child under the age of 7 years to proceed in his absence and requiring the child's parents or guardian to be notified of such proceedings;
widening the scope of supervision orders to include requirements as to medical or surgical attention or treatment of supervised persons;
allowing a child or juvenile requiring urgent medical or surgical treatment to be directly removed to a hospital instead of to a place of refuge; and
requiring the Director of Social Welfare to obtain a warrant before effecting entry into premises by the use of force.
Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
