PENSION BENEFITS
(m) in the proviso to regulation 16--
(i) in paragraph (i), by deleting ", with the approval of Secretary of State,";
(ii) in paragraph (ii), by deleting "or of the Secretary of State"; and
(iii) in paragraph (vi), by deleting "a pensionable" and substi- tuting the following-
(n) by deleting regulation 17; (0) in regulation 18—
"an established";
(i) in paragraph (1), by deleting "For the purpose of computing the amount of the pension or gratuity of an officer, the highest pensionable emoluments enjoyed by him, other than while on probation or serving on trial in any office following service otherwise than on probation or trial, during his service in a pensionable office shall be taken:" and substituting the following-
"Subject to this regulation, for the purpose of computing the amount of the pension or gratuity of an officer, the highest pensionable emoluments enjoyed or drawn by him during his service in an established office shall be taken:"
(ii) by inserting after paragraph (1) the following-
"(1A) Where an officer has more than one period of continuous service the highest pensionable emoluments enjoyed or drawn by him in the course of any particular period of continuous service only shall be taken into account for computing the amount of the pension or gratuity for that period.
(1B) Where an officer is serving on trial or probation in an office immediately following service other than on trial or probation, the highest pensionable emoluments which the officer would have enjoyed or drawn in his substantive rank at the date of his retirement or death shall be taken for the purpose of computing the amount of the pension or gratuity of the officer.";
(p) in regulation 19—
(i) in paragraphs (1), (2), (4), (5) and (7), by deleting "a pensionable" wherever it occurs and substituting in each case the following-
"an established";
(ii) in paragraphs (2)(b), (8) and (9), by deleting "of the Colony" and "in the Colony" and substituting in each case the following-
"under the Government";
(iii) in paragraphs (4), (5) and (7), by deleting "non-pension- able" wherever it occurs and substituting in each case the following-
"non-established";
(iv) in paragraph (4), by deleting "in the pensionable" and substituting the following-
"in the established"; and
