(E) Benefits on resignation
An officer who resigns from the service after completing not less than 10 years continuous qualifying service, with the approval of the Secretary of the Civil Service, will be eligible for a deferred pension. Unless the Governor directs otherwise (e.g. on strong compassionate grounds), a deferred pension will not be payable until an officer reaches the age of 60, and for a Disciplined Services staff, when he reaches the prescribed retirement age; but for an officer appointed before 1 July 1987, a deferred pension is payable when he reaches the age of 55. Deferred pension benefits attract pension increases.
Officers who resign are required to serve a notice period as follows
(a) for officers other than (b) below
(i)
in the case of Category A officers except Police Rank and File - 3 months;
(ii) in the case of Category B officers
month.
(iii) in the case of Police Rank and File
