Tariffs

96.

The U.K. Civil Aviation Authority, which acts for Her Majesty's Government on tariff matters, consulted the Department on 56 filings for changes in tariffs for international carriage to and from Hong Kong,

and from Hong Kong, including a 3% increase in cargo rates on the route from Hong Kong to Europe (to which there was no objection). In addition, the department received 6 filings proposing changes in fares for travel between Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.

Non-scheduled and Extra Section Flights

97.

A total of 2 166 one-way non-scheduled flights were operated under permits issued by the Air Services Division. In addition, 240 extra section flights were operated by scheduled airlines.

2. BOARDS & COMMITTEES

Aviation Advisory Board

98.

The Board held its 84th meeting on 17 August to discuss subjects including the localisation of civil aviation legislation, rules governing noise at the airport and the replacement airport studies.

Airport Facilitation Committee

99.

The Committee held its 77th meeting on 30 September at which members discussed subjects including the progress of Stage V major works, public transport arrangments, buffer hall operations, airline designators, immigration manning, airport signs, aircraft delays and passenger complaints.
