Runway, Taxiway & Aprons

Resurfacing of Taxiway Bl, Taxiway Cl, all stub taxiways and the South Taxiway Bridge was completed, concluding this part of the Major Runway and Taxiway Works Project. To facilitate the project works, the following taxiway closures took place:

Construction of the Runway Hard Shoulders began on 3 August and some 60% of the western side and 15% of the eastern side of the runway has been paved. Landscaping work beyond the 7.5 m. paved shoulder on the western side commenced on 7 September.

To facilitate drainage channel construction, a section of Taxiway D2 abeam Bays 15 and 21 was closed and re-routed via a diversionary taxiway northwest of the works site. In addition Bays 9, 15 and 21 were closed to aircraft parking.

20.

The survey of the Airport Fire Hydrant system by Water Supplies Department was largely completed. A full report of the findings is expected shortly.

21.

A programme of comprehensive refurbishment of taxiway signs, including new facings, was completed.
