I have the honour to refer to the communication addressed to you on 14 May 1987 by the Secretary for Economic Services advising that Hong Kong, as an associate member of the International Maritime Organization, wishes to appoint a Permanent Representative in accordance with Resolution A.505 (XII) adopted by the Council on 20 November 1981. I further have the honour to inform you that, with immediate effect, Mr Peter CHAN Yue-yan, Marine Adviser to the Hong Kong Government Office in London, has been appointed as Hong Kong's Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization.
