The technical solution proposed by the Edr design team can fully meet the original design requirements and is equivalent in all aspects of structural strength to the original design. However, an extra of about 10 tonne of steel bars has to be used.

On October 7, the JVC officially submitted Ed's technical solution in writing to MONI, NNSA and the office of the Nuclear Power Leading Group of the State Council. NNSA confirmed verbally on October 8 that they had no objection.
